Daniel Prohaska,
...is an Austrian Tenor with an Irish-British background. He was trained at the Conservatoire of Vienna and is a freelance singer and actor. As a guest he is closely associated with the State Theatre on Gärtnerplatz in Munich where he has been appearing on stage since 2001. Other opera- and music theatre venues include Semperoper (Dresden), the Royal Festival Hall (London), Volksoper (Vienna), Komische Oper (Berlin), the National Theatre of Strasbourg, Opera Graz, Rhine Opera Düsseldorf and the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. His many-facetted repertoire and versatility across the genres includes opera, operetta, Lied and classical musical comedy, because of his training as a singer as well as an actor. He has worked among others with directors such as Josef E. Köpplinger, Peter Konwitschny, Sephanie Moor, Torsten Fischer, Nicole Claudia Weber, Günter Krämer, Beverly Blankenship, Peter Lund, Alexandra Frankmann, Olivier Tambosi and Barry Kosky. In early spring 2023 Daniel Prohaska was awarded the honorary title of “bavarian Kammersänger”.

- World premiere in the title rôle of the rediscovered opera Koukourgi (Luigi Cherubini) at the Municipal Theatre of Klagenfurt, and a europewide live-broadcast on 3Sat.
- Further rôles in opera in the past, e.g. Pedrillo in The Abduction from the Seraglio (Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart), Steuermann in The Flying Dutchman (Richard Wagner), Jaquino in Fidelio (Ludwig van Beethoven).
- Danilo in the Merry Widow (Franz Lehár) in the London Royal Festival Hall.
- In the current repertoire of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in the large operetta productions, e.g.: Danilo in The Merry Widow (Franz Lehár), Count in Vienna Blood (Johann Strauss), Leopold in The White Horse Inn (Ralph Benatzky), Viktor Ronay in The Carnival Fairy (Kálmán Imre), Bummerli in The Chocolate Soldier (Oscar Straus), Koltay in Viktoria and her Hussar (Paul Abraham), Mr.X in The Circus Princess (Kálmán Imre), and as a debut in the season of 2021/22, Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus (Johann Strauss).
- In the season of 2021/22 Daniel first performed at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Florenz, as Dr. Blind in Die Fledermaus (Johann Strauss), conducted by Zubin Metha.
